Working as a Security Support Officer in college with age 16+ students, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment across the campus. Your Role

Core Responsibilities
Engineering Leadership & Execution
Lead the technical implementation of security solutions across business initiatives, ensuring alignment with enterprise security objectives.

Work closely with portfolio delivery leads across business units to build strong working relationships and ensure engineering efforts are aligned with delivery expectations.

Team Development & Capability Building
Establish tailored development and training plans for engineers, supporting career progression and technical growth.

Desirable Attributes
While not essential, the following qualities will help you thrive in the role and contribute to broader strategic goals:
A strong interest in product strategy and an appetite to work closely with product managers and senior leadership to align engineering efforts with business direction.
Exposure to Security Design practices and working closely with security architects to translate high-level designs into actionable engineering tasks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Working in partnership with the Service staff in line with the Trusts Lone Worker Policy
- Ensuring that residents, visitors and staff receive a quality service at all times
- Providing a safe and secure environment for all occupants of the premises and grounds
- Being responsible for Emergency Procedures, and the actions to be taken
- Actively ensuring the physical security of the hostel, including any out buildings
- Having a comprehensive knowledge of the security systems
- Ensuring locked areas such as storage areas, laundry and boiler rooms are checked at regular intervals to ensure they are secure
- Assisting in the issue and receipt of residents keys, where appropriate and ensure all accesses are adequately locked
- Cleaning duties in the kitchen and office
- Liaising with Police if necessary
- Reporting faulty or misplaced firefighting equipment to the Hostel manager
