What will you be doing?
The primary role of the Engineering Practice Team is to improve software delivery quality and speed across the Digital Systems department. The team focuses on integrating Agile, DevOps, CI/CD and engineering metrics into a unified and scalable framework that empowers high-performing teams.
You will focus on how we engineer by collaborating with teams to understand their platforms and empowering them to be more efficient. Expect to:
Develop and guide the engineering practice strategy, ensuring alignment of Agile, DevOps and delivery frameworks with broader organisational goals
Oversee a multidisciplinary team including DevOps engineers, Agile coaches and QA specialists to enable scalable and efficient software delivery
Champion the adoption of CI/CD, GitOps, automated testing and performance metrics to enhance both the quality and velocity of delivery
Manage shared development and testing environments, advocating for Infrastructure as Code to ensure consistency, reliability and scalability
Establish and nurture Communities of Practice across engineering domains to promote collaboration, continuous learning and standardisation

Extensive experience in software engineering or DevOps

In the heart of the East End of London is our popular first opinion Mile End practice, and they are looking for a vet to jump in and take the lead in this senior position.
About your new role!
Mile End has a VERY nice surgical caseload, and they are looking for a senior vet to help lead their growing team. We are very excited as we are approaching a new era in Mile End, with new colleagues joining by Autumn and completing the existing team, with our full-time RVN starting in August, our part-time vet and full-time Senior RVN starting in October and November.
The rota for this role involves a 4-day week with alternating Mondays and Tuesdays off shared with your full-time second vet. The average 40.4 hours per week is inclusive of a 1:4 branch Saturday and 1:8 hospital Sunday rotation. You will be rota 'd to up to 2 bank holidays per year in Wanstead and be involved in an on-call rotation. The 40.4 hours also includes approximately 6 short add-on twilight shifts per year.
You will be fully supported by a highly experienced regional manager, whose support is invaluable to her branches, as well as regional head vet for clinical management support if this is your first senior role.
You will also have the support of our flagship 24-hour hospital in Wanstead, who provide OOH care and support for more complex cases and procedures.
Mile End is situated in an ideal part of London, it has a bustling restaurant and bar scene, is close to famous Victoria Park and is within a single 35-minute train journey straight through to rural Essex and Epping Forest, where you will be spoilt for choice for country pubs. Your nearest tube station is just a 5-minute walk away.

Role and Responsibilities
As an Animal Care Assistant at Vets Now, you will play a crucial role in assisting our clinical teams with providing a comfortable and stress-free in-patient environment whilst negotiating busy shifts in an emergency clinic. Your responsibilities will include:
- Working under the guidance of Vet Nurses and Vet Surgeons.
- Handling patients for basic procedures and assisting with running diagnostic tests.
- Assisting in setting up and clearing down theatres for surgical procedures.
- Ensuring all in-patients have their basic husbandry needs attended to.
Working pattern
Week 1: Saturday 18:00-23:00 and Sunday 18:00-23:00
Week 2: Off
Week 3: Saturday 18:00-23:00 and Sunday 18:00-23:00
Plus, a fair share of bank holidays.
