Your Contributions:
As a Social Worker within our Duty and Assessment Team, you will identify and assess levels of risk and need, and deliver protective or supportive services for children at risk, in need of support and or looked after. If the child/young person requires longer term support you will assist in ensuring that they are allocated to a social worker in our Child in Need team.
This role is based in our office in Widnes with some travel across the Borough.

About you

Salary: £12.30 to £2.30 Hour
The role consists of shift work and weekends on a rota basis. Do you need more flexibility ? Overview of the role

Key duties
- Providing personal care - including bathing, toileting, dressing and help with feeding
- Medication administration
- Assisting and getting involved in residents' daily activities, hobbies or outings

- Developing an open, honest, and considerate working relationship with residents
- Maintaining written daily records
- Attending and completing training, as required

Where will you work?
Fritham Lodge is a large, detached, corner property supporting up to 12 residents with mental health conditions and associated complex needs, including schizophrenia, bipolar and personality disorders. The home is five minutes' walk from Shirley, a busy suburb just two miles outside Southampton city centre. Fritham is a lively and active home. It has its own Day Activity Coordinator who develops personalised activity programmes to support education and life skills, providing a range of engaging and meaningful activities, tailored to individual capabilities. There is transport for trips and access to local amenities for swimming and horse riding, as well as visits to the cinema, pubs and restaurants.

SHIFT Guide (social worker)

At the heart of SHiFT's approach will be the relationship the child or young person has with a SHiFT Guide. Participants will typically spend 18 months with their SHiFT Guide who will have the time, skills, experience and support to do whatever it takes to get alongside each child and young person - helping them to change their life so that, one day, they will no longer be needed.
Through the SHiFT journey, participants will develop strengthened foundations on which they can build a future that benefits both them and society, including improved literacy, numeracy and communications skills. These are the stable, strengthened foundations on which they can build a future that benefits both them and society.
- Guides will hold no more than 6 children to enable the capacity to work robustly and tenaciously with them and their network.
- The team receives nominations or referrals from other teams, which are reviewed in regard to the criteria for SHiFT intervention.
- Guides will need to have experience in social work practice, including s47 investigations and delivering child protection or court proceedings.
