Oak Tree School in Truro has recently expanded and developed two new buildings and undergone a successful inspection from Ofsted allowing us to offer a wider age range of pupils from 5 – 18 years the opportunity to have the best education possible. Oak Tree School is a specialist SEMH provision positioned near the city of Truro in Cornwall. The school provides full-time specialist co-education for up to 135 pupils and young people aged 5 to 18 who experience social, emotional, mental health, communication difficulties and associated challenging behaviours. About the Role You will play a pivotal role in developing, implementing, and evaluating a broad and engaging catering curriculum across all key stages. With a focus on high standards, creativity, and innovation, you will ensure every student has the opportunity to achieve their full potential, gain recognised qualifications, and develop a lifelong appreciation for catering. Key Responsibilities Deliver an engaging, broad catering curriculum across all key stages. Ensure qualifications (GCSE, BTEC, ASDAN, A-Level) remain current and relevant. Monitor student progress and implement targeted interventions to drive achievement. Promote high-quality, creative, and inclusive teaching. Manage resources safely and support colleagues with professional development. Lead curriculum planning, subject-specific meetings, and faculty strategy. Build partnerships with parents, local chefs, and the wider community. Adhere to safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies. Essential Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or working towards it. Expertise in catering or technologies curriculum design and delivery. Proven ability to inspire, motivate, and collaborate with both students and staff. Strong understanding of national curriculum requirements, qualifications, and assessment practices. Ability to analyse data to drive improvement and implement strategies for student success. About Us Oak Tree School in Truro has recently expanded and developed two new buildings and undergone a successful inspection from Ofsted allowing us to offer a wider age range of pupils from 5 – 18 years the opportunity to have the best education possible. Oak Tree School is a specialist SEMH provision positioned near the city of Truro in Cornwall. The school provides full-time specialist co-education for up to 135 pupils and young people aged 5 to 18 who experience social, emotional, mental health, communication difficulties and associated challenging behaviours. These pupils and young people often cannot cope, function or achieve within a mainstream environment. The aim is to provide a structured, nurturing approach, with pupils accessing a broad, balanced and engaging curriculum to meet their significant needs. Key Responsibilities:

Service, maintenance, repairs & installation of all catering kitchen equipment. Including but not limited to; Combi Ovens, Dish & Glass Washers, Fryers, Griddles & more.

Key Requirements:

CCN1, COMCAT 1 & 3
Gas Registered/Safe (Natural & LPG)
Full Driving License
Relevant Electrical Experience (18th Edition, HNC, NVQ, City & Guilds Electrics)

Desired Requirements:

Experience working with Rational Combi Ovens - SCC & iCombi Pro (Electric & Gas)
Experience working with warewashing equipment
Experience working with commercial catering equipment
COMCAT 2, 4 & 5 is not essential but would be beneficial
F-Gas Experience is not essential but would be beneficial

In-house training provided on lines of equipment that represent a core part of our business outside of commercial catering equipment.

Monday - Friday.

7am - 4pm (Includes 30 minutes unpaid lunch).

Must have a full driving license (Ideally clean).

Company van, fuel card & tools are provided.

Salary: £45,000 - £0,000 (Experience dependant).

This salary is inclusive of all hours required to perform your duties. No additional payments will be made for overtime worked.

On call rota for 1 in 5 weeks (Either overnight stays or out of hours call-outs). Monthly retainer of 50 paid in addition to salary. Emergency call-outs paid per visit.
