Job Title: Business Development Manager

Location : Burnley

Salary: £42,000 - £60,000 - DOE

Job Type: Permanent, Full Time


Vital Heating Solutions delivers expert design, installation, and management of decentralised energy and multi-utility networks, focusing on low and zero-carbon technologies. We specialise in bespoke commercial heating, industrial services, and mechanical engineering. Our custom Business Management Systems (BMS) with remote access enable you to monitor, measure, and optimise energy consumption for greater efficiency and sustainability.


Due to expansion, we are now on the lookout for a Business Development Manager to join our team. You will lead our commercial and domestic growth strategy across plumbing, heating, and renewable energy sectors. You’ll work closely with our internal teams and will be responsible for driving business growth within Vital Heating Solutions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities
  • Drive client relationships and manage key accounts
  • Collaborate with project managers and technical teams to deliver seamless service
  • Ensure all projects meet high standards of safety, quality, and customer care
  • Prepare and present detailed technical proposals to clients
  • Track and report on pipeline activity through the CRM system
  • Support a culture of continuous improvement and innovation


Experience/Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Business Development (ideally within renewables/plumbing/heating)
  • 3+ years’ experience in Domestic & Commercial Installations, Gas & Heating/Ventilation systems
  • Hands-on experience or working knowledge of Air Source & Ground Source Heat Pumps
  • A Full UK Driving Licence (Essential)
  • Strong commercial acumen, confident in presentations and negotiation
  • Technical expertise to oversee project quality and timelines
  • Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and organisational skills
  • A collaborative, solutions-first mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-growing team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems

Are you experienced within a sales role and looking to join a growing company where you will have the opportunity to progress into more senior positions such as Business Development Manager?

This company specialise in retrofit and home improvements for homes and businesses to help them reduce their carbon footprint and energy costs through bespoke renewable energy, heating and insulation solutions. Due to continued success and an on-going programme of growth, they are now looking to recruit a Sales Assistant to help them achieve their ambitious growth plans.

In this role the successful candidate will help generate new business for the company via relationship building and converting warm leads. This will mainly be B2C but also some B2C as well. This will be an office-based role in Swansea with occasionally travel to events and conferences.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience within a sales role and be looking to progress their career within the energy sector. They will also have good communication skills, a can-do attitude and be looking to grow long-term with a company. They will need to be commutable to Swansea and happy to travel when needed.
