About the Role:


Reporting into a Team Leader (each team is circa 5-7) and up to the Director of Professional Services, you will be joining a market-leading team of professionals to undertake risk assessments and advise on fire, health and safety matters at mainly low-mid buildings, to our established portfolio of clients across a variety of segments, including, residential, commercial and retail.


Responsibilities:


  • Undertake risk assessments including fire and health and safety, ensuring the fee-earning target is met.
  • Undertake various fire, health and safety assignments within your competency.
  • Deliver client reports within the agreed SLA, in accordance with a forensic and pragmatic approach to ensure the Ark 'Gold Standard' is achieved.
  • Design health and safety site management systems where required, specific to client requirements.
  • Undertake onsite briefings and advise on risk management improvements.
  • Work collaboratively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work with other consultants on learning opportunities to ensure we are constantly sharing knowledge across the team.

Kent is looking to appoint an innovative and forward-thinking Consultant in Public Health to join its highly regarded and well-resourced Public Health Division and help to drive its exciting agenda forward.
The council has a highly experienced team working with its Director of Public Health, including a Deputy director as well as six additional Public Health consultants all working to achieve the aspirations of its members for improving the health and wellbeing of the Kent population.
Kent Public Health is aiming to become a Centre of Excellence, undertaking a range of innovative activities in research, innovation and improvement, advanced analytics (using integrated data and predictive modelling) and offering increased number of education and training placements for multiple professional groups such as Public Health Speciality Registrars, junior doctors and university students. Kent enjoys national recognition for several programmes including Public Health research linked with Europe. You will be responsible for the line management of public health specialists as well as a dedicated budget for this area of the service. You will lead on the education and training function which includes responsibility for maintaining and improving its department's specialist training location for speciality registrars and other professional groups.
As well as developing and utilising information and intelligence systems to underpin public health action across disciplines and organisations, leading collation, and interpretation of relevant data.

As a senior member of our Customer Success Team, you will report into the Director of Risk and Compliance, and be at the forefront of our client interactions, serving as a Trusted Advisor and problem solver. You will work alongside a group of dedicated professionals who are equally committed to continuous improvement and driving change.


In this role, your ability to provide innovative solutions and troubleshoot effectively will be critical. You will have the autonomy to lead and manage external relationships while also being the hub of our internal operations. Your role will be pivotal in exceeding client expectation and driving their success.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Implement client projects and programmes with high-level advocacy
  • Designing management reports and predictive analytics for clients.
  • Create customer success by managing and reviewing a highly configurable digital software enterprise platform.
  • Undertake gap analysis of processes for improvement and better management of our clients systems.
  • Identify and implement client initiatives and new ways of working.
  • Prepare and document technical requirements, proposals, schedules and client interactions.
  • Preparation of scopes and methodologies including liaison with technical team and the clients.
  • Respond to technical concerns and problems, ensuring smooth implementation and ongoing management.
  • Communicate with clients and internal teams to explain technical matters, products and implementation schedules, and take briefs as required.
  • Adopting the role of Trusted Advisor so that our clients have confidence, resilience, and can thrive
  • Providing decision support to clients: strategically as well as on day-to-day matters
  • Creating compelling presentations to communicate ideas, plans, reporting tools and software user journeys
  • Working with the software support team to achieve clients operational and strategic goals
  • Stay up to date with new capabilities, features and product launches and provide valuable product feedback to management.


You will have:


  • Qualifications in H&S and fire safety, including membership of a recognised industry body e.g, CMIOSH or MIIRSM or working towards (minimum Cert IOSH)
  • A strategic and goal-orientated mindset with the ability to lead, engage and manage client accounts and delivery programmes
  • An ability to convey information and simplify it for clients
  • An ability to learn new topics quickly
  • A passion to succeed, and a love of winning
  • Drive to build successful client portfolios and deliver the Gold Standard of service and solutions
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a client-facing role that included advising clients on their health, safety, and fire safety objectives on a programme level, helping them to make the right decisions and supporting them with execution
  • 2 years’ experience in an in-house role would be advantageous "to walk in a client's shoes"
  • Experience with taking a requirement and preparing a proposal through to brief across complex assignments

About the Role:


Reporting into a Team Leader (each team is circa 5-7) and up to the Director of Professional Services, you will be joining a market-leading team of professionals to undertake risk assessments and advise on fire, health and safety matters at mainly low-mid buildings, to our established portfolio of clients across a variety of segments, including, residential, commercial and retail.


Responsibilities:


  • Undertake risk assessments including fire and health and safety, ensuring the fee-earning target is met.
  • Undertake various fire, health and safety assignments within your competency.
  • Deliver client reports within the agreed SLA, in accordance with a forensic and pragmatic approach to ensure the Ark 'Gold Standard' is achieved.
  • Design health and safety site management systems where required, specific to client requirements.
  • Undertake onsite briefings and advise on risk management improvements.
  • Work collaboratively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work with other consultants on learning opportunities to ensure we are constantly sharing knowledge across the team.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of controlling risks, compliances etc in relation to our online management system QUOODA®
  • Remain up-to-date with the Technical and regulatory requirements impacting our clients.
  • The employee shall keep up with CPD in their own time as well as attend briefings and participate in CPD activities as directed by the Professional Services Director.
  • The employee to make every effort to attend training and study plans.
  • The employee shall carry out any reasonable request made by the line manager.


Practical Requirements:


  • The consultant has a full driving license and the ability to drive/ travel by public transport to assignments.
  • Ability to facilitate hybrid working with a home office that is suitable for connectivity to the office and clients, a safe and productive place to work conducive for delivering daily duties.
