About the Role Arondite is looking for an experienced lead AI research engineer to provide direction to Arondite’s growing AI capability. You should have previous experience developing AI-based solutions in a fast-paced commercial environment, as well as in building and managing a team of high-quality AI engineers. You will also be expected to personally contribute to the implementation of AI solutions.
These solutions will likely include AI/ML models that are integrated into our core software product, as well as those deployed on edge devices including drones and ground robots. The role will also encompass addressing the wider practicalities and challenges in implementing AI-based systems, including obtaining training data, addressing ethical concerns and explaining model behaviours.
As a leader within the AI team at Arondite, you will shape how we exploit the AI revolution, both as part of products and to accelerate our internal processes.
You should have the following:
Previous experience in managing other AI engineers and building engineering teams.
MSc in computer science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, robotics or a related engineering field
The ability to architect and write maintainable code in Python, Rust, C++ or Java
At least 5 years of relevant experience researching and applying modern ML in areas such as scene understanding, multi-modal sensing, control and path planning, live language models and vision-language understanding
Strong written and verbal communication skills to communicate your ideas effectively and present them to relevant stakeholders and users
A passion for identifying and implementing pragmatic solutions to hard problems using AI and conventional algorithms
Ideally, you would also have:
PhD in computer vision, machine learning, robotics, or a related field

About the team you'll join:

As a Senior AI Research Scientist, you will join one of Aqemia's Drug Discovery Platform AI Teams, composed of 5 AI Researchers, and lead efforts to develop cutting-edge AI algorithms to model protein-ligand systems and predict molecular properties. You will be a hands-on technical expert pushing the boundaries of what AI can do for drug discovery. Your deep knowledge of machine learning, strong coding foundations, and applied experience in model development will play a key role in advancing our Drug Discovery Platform.

You will act as a technical mentor, contribute to high-impact R&D projects, and help integrate innovative AI methodologies into real-world drug discovery applications.

Your Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and the technical implementation of novel ML algorithms with a strong focus on deep learning, generative models, graph neural networks, and physics-informed AI to predict molecular properties and protein-ligand interactions

AI Research Scientist/Engineer (Multimodal)

Position Overview

As an AI Research Scientist at Autodesk Research, you will be doing fundamental and applied research that will help our customers imagine, design, and make a better world.

We are a team of scientists, researchers, engineers, and designers working together on projects that range from learning-based design systems, computer vision, graphics, robotics, human-computer interaction, sustainability, simulation, manufacturing, architectural design and construction.

This role will report to a Research Manager in the AI Lab.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new ML models and AI techniques
  • Lead on research projects within a global team
  • Review relevant AI/ML literature to identify emerging methods, technologies, and best practices.
  • Explore new data sources and discover techniques for best leveraging data

Minimum Qualifications

  • A Master's or PhD in a field related to AI/ML, such as: Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Linguistics, Mechanical Engineering, or related disciplines
  • Strong background applying Deep Learning techniques (including implementing custom architectures, optimizing model performance, developing novel loss functions, metrics, and benchmarks, and deploying production-ready solutions)
  • Familiarity in statistical methods for Machine Learning (e.g. Bayesian methods, HMMs, graphical models, dimension reduction, clustering, classification, regression techniques, etc.)
  • Familiarity with PyTorch, PyTorch Lightning, or similar frameworks
  • Strong coding abilities in Python
  • Strong Software development skills and familiarity with GPUs, MLOps, Git, High-performance large-scale ML systems and platforms.
  • Experience with Transformers, LLMs, NLP, Multi-modal Deep Learning, and VLMs/MLLMs
  • Publication track record in machine learning conferences and/or journals

Preferred Qualifications

Who you will be working with

The role is based in the University of Cambridge's Research Computing Services a leading UK National Supercomputing Centre that provides facilities and services to world-renowned scientists, clinicians, and engineers across the UK and beyond. You'll be part of a growing team of specialist AI, Software, and Systems Engineers dedicated to supporting use of Dawn, working with a wide range of stakeholders across multiple disciplines and national institutions.

What you will do

  • Leadership: Lead diverse AI projects, adapting your approach to meet the specific needs of clients and teams.

  • Community engagement: Lead initiatives to build and nurture the Dawn user community, convening workshops and networking events that bring together researchers from different disciplines and institutions.
