Lidl UK is a leading supermarket chain committed to offering high-quality products at the lowest possible prices. We are a fast-growing business with a strong presence across the UK. Our logistics team in Bristol is seeking reliable and motivated Delivery Drivers to support our operations.

As a Delivery Driver for Lidl UK, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently delivering goods from our distribution centres to Lidl stores or potentially directly to customers (depending on the specific role). You will play a crucial role in our supply chain, ensuring that stores are well-stocked to meet customer demand. This role requires a valid driving license, a good driving record, and a strong work ethic.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operating commercial vehicles (vans or trucks, depending on license) to transport goods.
  • Planning delivery routes efficiently.
  • Loading and unloading goods safely, potentially using lifting equipment.
  • Ensuring goods are securely transported to prevent damage.
  • Completing delivery paperwork and obtaining necessary signatures.
  • Conducting pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Reporting any vehicle maintenance issues or accidents promptly.
  • Adhering to all traffic laws and regulations, including tachograph rules (if applicable).
  • Maintaining a clean and tidy vehicle.
  • Communicating with dispatchers and store staff.
  • Providing excellent customer service during deliveries (if applicable).
  • Working independently and managing time effectively to meet delivery schedules.
  • Adhering to company policies and procedures, including health and safety standards.
  • Handling goods with care.
  • Ensuring the security of the vehicle and goods.
  • Assisting with basic vehicle maintenance checks (e.g., tyre pressure).
  • Working various shifts, which may include early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Resolving minor delivery issues or reporting them to the transport office.
  • Using delivery tracking systems or apps.
  • Contributing to a positive and efficient transport operation.

Qualifications:
  • Valid UK driving license relevant to the vehicle type (e.g., Cat B for vans, Cat C1 or C for trucks).
  • CPC qualification is required for roles involving vehicles over 3.5 tonnes.
  • Good driving record with no or minimal points.
  • Previous experience as a Delivery Driver is desirable.
  • Knowledge of the local road network in and around Bristol is a plus.
  • Ability to perform manual handling tasks and lift goods.
  • Reliable and punctual.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Attention to detail, especially with paperwork and checks.
  • Understanding of driver hours regulations (if applicable).
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • A proactive approach to work.
  • Ability to work flexibly according to business needs.
