Support the Heart of Hospitality as an Assistant Pub Manager at Mitchells & Butlers in Sheffield!

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant Pub Manager to join our team at a busy location in Sheffield. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your leadership skills and contribute to the success of a thriving hospitality venue.

As an Assistant Pub Manager at Mitchells & Butlers, you will support the Pub Manager in overseeing all aspects of the pub's operation, including staff management, customer service, stock control, and financial performance. You will deputise for the Manager in their absence, ensuring the pub runs smoothly and profitably while maintaining high standards of food, drink, and service. This role requires strong operational skills, leadership potential, and a passion for delivering excellent hospitality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Pub Manager in the day-to-day running of the pub.
  • Lead and supervise the front-of-house and kitchen teams during shifts.
  • Ensure high standards of customer service are consistently delivered.
  • Manage stock levels, including ordering, receiving, and inventory control.
  • Assist with staff training, scheduling, and performance management.
  • Handle customer feedback and resolve complaints effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and food hygiene regulations.
  • Support the Manager in achieving sales and profit targets.
  • Oversee cash handling and till procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for staff and customers.

Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or assistant management role within a pub, restaurant, or hospitality environment is essential.
  • Experience in managing staff and leading shifts.
  • Knowledge of stock control and ordering procedures.
  • Understanding of food hygiene and health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Personal Licence holder is desirable but not essential (training can be provided).
  • A passion for the hospitality industry and delivering great customer experiences.
