Role Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Associate Financial Advisor to join our team in Glasgow. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone with a foundational understanding of financial planning or banking and finance who is looking to develop their career in financial advice. You will work closely with experienced Financial Advisors, supporting them in providing advice to clients, preparing financial plans, conducting research, and managing client relationships. Full training and support towards relevant qualifications will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support senior Financial Advisors in preparing for client meetings.
  • Gather and analyze client financial information.
  • Conduct research on financial products and solutions.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial plans and recommendations.
  • Prepare client suitability letters and documentation.
  • Liaise with product providers and internal teams.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records.
  • Handle client queries and administrative tasks.
  • Assist with ongoing client relationship management.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., FCA rules).
  • Learn and apply financial planning principles.
  • Utilize financial planning software and tools.
  • Support the generation of reports on client portfolios.
  • Attend training sessions and work towards relevant professional qualifications (e.g., CII Diploma in Financial Planning).
  • Stay informed about market trends and financial products.
  • Assist with basic compliance checks and procedures.
  • Shadow senior advisors in client meetings.
  • Contribute to team meetings and discussions.
  • Manage administrative tasks efficiently.
  • Ensure data privacy and confidentiality.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field is desirable.
  • Previous experience (1+ year) in a financial services, banking, or administrative role is beneficial.
  • Basic understanding of financial planning concepts (e.g., investments, pensions, insurance).
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proactive attitude and eagerness to learn.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Commitment to obtaining professional financial planning qualifications.
  • Knowledge of FCA regulations is a plus.
  • Customer service-oriented approach.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Any progress towards CII or similar qualifications is an advantage.
