Job Description:
We are seeking a proactive and results-oriented FMCG Sales Representative to join our team in the Leicester area. In this field-based role, you will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with retailers, promoting Tesco's product range (focusing on specific categories or own-brand lines), securing orders, and ensuring optimal product placement and visibility in stores. This role requires travel within the assigned territory.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with store managers and relevant personnel within retail accounts.
  • Promote and sell Tesco's FMCG products to existing and potential retail customers.
  • Achieve sales targets and business objectives within the assigned territory.
  • Negotiate product orders, promotional space, and display opportunities.
  • Ensure products are stocked, priced correctly, and merchandising standards are met.
  • Conduct regular store visits to check stock levels, product availability, and competitor activity.
  • Identify new sales opportunities and expand product distribution.
  • Provide product information and training to store staff where needed.
  • Manage customer accounts and resolve any issues or queries.
  • Collect market intelligence and report on trends and competitor activities.
  • Plan and manage your sales route and call schedule effectively.
  • Maintain accurate sales records and reports.
  • Work closely with internal sales, marketing, and logistics teams.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations.
  • Manage a sales budget and track expenses.
  • Participate in sales meetings and training sessions.
  • Analyze sales data to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Build brand advocacy at the store level.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the sales team.

Qualifications:
  • Previous sales experience, preferably within the FMCG or retail sector.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain customer relationships.
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a territory effectively.
  • Results-driven with a focus on achieving sales targets.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in using CRM systems and sales reporting tools is a plus.
  • Full UK driving license is essential.
  • Ability to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
  • Understanding of retail operations and merchandising is desirable.
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).
  • Proactive and energetic attitude.
  • Ability to analyze sales data.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; further education in sales or business is a plus.
  • Resilience and persistence in sales pursuits.
